Beware of spoilers if you’re hanging around Game of Thrones-dedicated sections of the internet today. The next episode, titled “Beyond the Wall,” was mistakenly uploaded by a third party vendor to HBO’s Nordic and España divisions, reports Buzzfeed.
HBO told Buzzfeed the following:
“We have learned that the upcoming episode of Game of Thrones was accidentally posted for a brief time on the HBO Nordic and HBO España platforms. The error appears to have originated with a third-party vendor and the episode was removed as soon as it was recognized. This is not connected to the recent cyber incident at HBO in the US.”
HBO removed the episode from the servers as soon as they noticed the error, but since this is the internet, it was far too late. Copies of the episode have propagated to the far reaches of the internet.
So if you want to remain surprised and go into the next episode fresh on Sunday night when it airs normally, try to avoid the internet for a few days.
Update: HBO has confirmed the name of the episode is “Beyond the Wall,” not “Death is the Enemy” as we originally reported. This article has been updated to reflect the correction.
