On this week’s post-Christmas edition of SmackDown Live, General Manager Daniel Bryan announced that Dolph Ziggler had effectively vacated the United States Championship the previous week when he left the title in the ring, noting “you don’t deserve me.” He then revealed that a tournament would take place to decide the new champion, with two matches taking place that night. Bobby Roode defeated former US Champion Baron Corbin, while former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal easily advanced past Tye Dillinger. The rest of the tournament’s brackets, though, remained a mystery.
Until now. WWE has officially released the bracket, which you can see below. The two preliminary matches are Zack Ryder going up against former fellow Hype Bro Mojo Rawley, while the New Day’s Xavier Woods has a chance to score the first-ever singles title for the faction when he goes against the world’s biggest fan of Rusev Day, Aiden English.
The tournament will continue on next week’s episode of SmackDown Live, and is expected to wrap up with the finals at the Royal Rumble event.
