Batman has never seen Clayface like he is in ‘Detective Comics’ #972

Batman has never seen Clayface like this.

SPOILERS ahead. You’ve been warned.

Clayface has been going through a rather difficult time in the latest Detective Comics arc. He’s been toyed with and forced back into the dangerous villain he once was, even though he’s been fighting alongside Batman and his bat-family for some time now. Things get a lot worse today as the Mudroom malfunctions, changing Clayface in a way nobody saw coming.

The Mudroom is a training room for Batman and the other Gotham heroes to train, not unlike the X-Men’s Danger Room. The only difference is the Mudroom worked off of Clayface’s powers by collecting his body to create scenarios and enemies to train against. All that extra mud is being dumped into Clayface, who is already losing control of himself. The results are going to be cataclysmic for Gotham:

Detective Comics #972 is a fantastic issue we recommend, and judging by this reveal #973 is going to be a must-read for fans of giant kaiju monster madness!
