LEGO plans to make Harry Potter, Hogwarts and ‘Wizarding World’ sets starting in 2018

LEGO reveals plans to create sets within the Wizarding World starting this August.

Hogwarts is going to be getting more representation in the toy world as LEGO revealed today a Great Hall set running $99.99 will hit store shelves in August. This is the first of many more Harry Potter and Wizarding World sets planned after LEGO partnered with Warner Brothers to add a bit more magic to the LEGO lineup.

This won’t just encompass Harry Potter either as senior vice president of franchise management and marketing for Warner Bros. Consumer Products Maryellen Zarakas said, “We’re excited to bring Harry Potter back into LEGO form and expand the world with the addition of Fantastic Beasts sets.” With two more films on the way this not only means we’ll be able to play in the prequel world, but also build in them. As Zarakas put it, “These new sets allow us to strengthen the emotional connection our fans have with the Wizarding World as they bring to life their favorite characters and memories from the films.”

The Hogwarts Great Hall is a 878 piece set that runs for $99.99 and will be out August 1, 2018. It also comes with 10 minifiures including Harry Potter™, Ron Weasley™, Hermione Granger™, Draco Malfoy™, Susan Bones, Professor McGonagall, Professor Quirrel with dual Lord Voldemort™ face, Hagrid™, Albus Dumbledore™ and Nearly Headless Nick, plus buildable Basilisk and Fawkes™ creatures, and Hedwig™ and Scabbers™ figures.
