The Witchwood Hearthstone expansion is bringing a brand-new Warlock legendary minion: Lord Godfrey.
Another anti-aggro tool has been added to the Warlock mix with brand-new 7-mana cost legendary Lord Godfrey; the infamous Gilnean insurgent turned Forsaken final boss of Shadowfang Keep from World of Warcraft lore’s card was revealed via Russian streamer Plag1at earlier today:
Card type: Minion
Mana cost: 7
Attack: 4 HP: 4
Card text: Battlecry: Deal 2 damage to all other minions. If any die, repeat this Battlecry.
In World of Warcraft, Godfrey totes dual pistols that fire Shadow-damage Cursed Bullets and has the ability to summon Bloodthirsty Ghouls, so thematically the Warlock card designation is a very fitting one. It’s also the only board clear for Warlocks that is an odd numbered card, so that could factor into its use for Even and Odd decks accommodating such cards as Baku the Mooneater or Gloom Stag.

What do you think of new warlock legendary card Lord Godfrey? Did warlocks need another board clear on top of such notables as Defile, Hellfire and Twisting Neither? Will this card see use in the standard meta? Sound off in the comments.
