Gears of War 5 is officially announced, coming in 2019

“Back to where it all began.”

To close out Microsoft’s Xbox E3 press conference, The Coalition unveiled the highly anticipated Gears of War 5, the next installment of the smash-hit Gears of War franchise. As usual, Gears of War 5 is exclusive to Microsoft platforms, meaning it will be coming to Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs.

Gears of War 5 seems to feature a new female protagonist, and picks up right where Gears of War 4 left off.

Watch the trailer, unveiled today at E3, below:

Gears of War 5 is the first game to come out since Microsoft bought the franchise from Epic Games in 2016. At the conference, it was promised that Gears 5 will go “back to where it all began.”

Gears of War 5 will be released in 2019.
