Even though he makes claims to the contrary in the beginning of his backstage Seattle Comic-Con video (“I wanted to apologize because there’s no real revelations coming out this week about Spider-Man 2“), MCU Spider-Man actor Tom Holland slyly revealed the title to the Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel by flashing the title via his iPad:
Not much is known about Spider-Man: Far From Home at this time besides the promising announcement of Jake Gyllenhaal as longtime Spider-Man villain Mysterio and the fact that it takes place in London, England but president of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige (in a recent interview with Comicbook.com) revealed that Far From Home not only continues the nominal theme of original Homecoming title but could take on several other meanings as well:
Well, I mean, sure, let the speculation begin. That’s always fun. We like [the title] of course because it ties into Homecoming, not just keeping that word going, which we like and we liked it more than Homecoming 2, but that notion of ‘home’ is a word that has dual meanings we’d like to continue with this [Marvel Cinematic Universe] version of Spider-Man. So, Far From Home has multiple meanings.
Filming for Spider-Man: Far From Home starts in July. What do you think of the new Spider-Man sequel’s working title? Sound off in the comments.
