The Walking Dead’s Greg Nicotero to join ‘Spawn’ Movie

Production is not scheduled to begin until early next year, but the Spawn movie reboot has gained lots of traction in the past few months. The movie will star Jaime Foxx as the titular anti hero and Jeremy Renner as Detective Twitch Williams.

Today it was announced that Greg Nicotero and his KNB EFX Group would be joining the Todd McFarlene production. Nicotero will be working on the visual effects for the upcoming movie.Nicotero has an impressive resume, getting his start doing special effects and makeup on George Romero’s Day of the Dead. He also worked under special effects legend Tom Savini.

Nicotero is best known to modern audiences for his work on The Walking Dead where he has not only done makeup and special effects but served as a director.

Spawn currently does not have a release date but and is scheduled to start shooting in January 2019. The movie will mark McFarlene’s directorial debut and will be released through Blumhouse Productions.
