The New York Excelsior have announced they have parted ways with one of their main tank players, Joon-hwa “Janus” Song.
The announcement comes via the NYXL’s Twitter.
Today we have parted ways with Joon-hwa "Janus" Song. It was an incredible year, and we couldn't have done it without you, @januspy_. You've always been a wonderful player and teammate. We wish you the absolute best in your career! pic.twitter.com/HlF8hG7XFN

Following the announcement Janus took to Twitter to thank New York and the fans, “Huge thanks to @NYXL and the fans. It was incredible year for my life. I was so happy to be in the team. And yeah, of course I’m looking for team if you need a typical weeb main tank”
Janus came to New York along with the rest of the players from the all-Korean Overwatch team LuxuryWatch Blue, and has played tank exclusively during his time with the team. During his time in Overwatch League his playtime wasn’t very substantial in comparison with his tanking counterpart Mano. Janus saw play on 69 maps, while Mano played on 105.
New York also announced the release of team coach Kim “WizardHyeong” Hyeong-seok earlier yesterday. This proceeded big roster change announcements from the Boston Uprising and Los Angeles Gladiators.
There’s no date available at this time for the start of Overwatch League’s second season.
