Captain Marvel’s first day pre-sale was the MCU’s third best

Captain Marvel is not only the first female-led MCU film, it’s also their second period piece, as it’s set in the ’90s.

Fandango have informed us how Captain Marvel is doing in pre-sales. Advance tickets went on sale on Fandango 6 PM Eastern time, this past Monday. Remarkably, in the first 24 hours, Captain Marvel took its place in Fandango’s top 3 MCU first day pre-sellers.

It’s beaten films like Captain America: Civil War, Thor: Ragnarok and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, amongst others. The new list for Fandango’s top 3 MCU pre-sales on the first day is this:

  1. Avengers: Infinity War (2018)
  2. Black Panther (2018)
  3. Captain Marvel (2019)

Fandango Managing Editor Erik Davis said, “We’re seeing fantastic advance ticket sales for Captain Marvel‘. As the studio’s first female-driven superhero film, Captain Marvel is a benchmark moment for the genre, for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and for star Brie Larson, who will play the most powerful Marvel superhero to date’.

Captain Marvel releases March 8th, 2019 in United States and most other territories.
