Overwatch teaser heavily hints at Talon-themed hero 30

The mysterious post hints a new support hero.

Blizzard sent out a tweet today that by all appearances is teasing the game’s 30th and newest hero: Jean-Baptiste Augustin, an ex-Talon medic. The tweet tells us that someone breached the firewall of the shadowy and sinister Talon organization, and accessed the records of a Captain Cuerva, D.

Blizzard shared a blog post that gives us full access to the communication record of Captain Cuerva, D.

After landing in Ti Otel Lanbi, Port-de-Paix, Haiti, the team settles into a hotel to gather supplies, and make preparations before heading into “Tortuga” to capture their target. But before the team can head out, three of its members go missing at the hands of the man they were sent to capture.

We know from Captain Cuerva’s log that even though he’s a medic, Jean-Baptiste is still a dangerous foe, “I know better than to underestimate Baptiste. I helped train him myself, and he was one of our best. I’ve never known a medic to be such a good shot, and his adaptability to new situations is a rare talent.”

This also tells us that should Jean-Baptiste be hero #30, we can expect him to be packing a projectile weapon and some serious offensive capabilities, even if he is a support.

What’s also interesting is Cuerva’s belief that Baptiste could be brought back into the folds of Talon, saying “If all goes well, everything will be settled and we’ll be on our way home by tonight. Hopefully Baptiste will be among us, playing cards and drinking rum, instead of lying in a shallow island grave.”

Either Talon has incredible leverage to pull on the medic, or Cuerva and Baptiste’s relationship is far more complicated that most.

Regardless of whether Baptiste or Cuerva is hero 30, we should see the announcement from Blizzard soon. If history is to be believed anyway — Orisa was teased in February 2017, and Brigitte followed in February 2018.

Who do you think hero 30 will be? Sound off in the comments and let us know.
