Game of Thrones

Game of Thrones: HBO releases 14 new photos from Season 8, Episode 2

Jaime Lannister stands trial, Daenerys Targaryen and Jon snow plan for battle and more in these official images from Game of Thrones Season 8, Episode 2.

The long wait for the final season of Game of Thrones is over and Season 8, Episode 1 “Winterfell” is in the books; the episode wasn’t heavy on the action, but one of imperative table-setting and “getting the back band together,” so to speak — so we’re already fired up to see what happens in the still as of yet unnamed Episode 2.

HBO gave us a further glimpse at the second episode by releasing 14 new photos on Wednesday evening, which feature the trial of Jaime Lannister in Winterfell; little Lyanna Mormont suited up for battle (good luck against the White Walkers, kid); Davos making a stew; Tyrion enjoying (what else?) some wine and looking contemplative; Daenerys in some Targaryen garb with a decidedly Northern-furred spin; Missandei and Grey Worm sharing what could be a final moment alone; Gilly and Sam with a noticeably older looking Sam Jr. and Bran staring at a weirwood tree (did he wheel himself out of the courtyard, folks?). Maybe not the most revealing of photos, but any hints towards what will happen in this decisive final season are most welcome:
