Overwatch’s Summer Games event returns August 8th

The Summer Games are back in Overwatch, featuring seasonal skins and Lucioball.

The Summer Games, Overwatch‘s first seasonal event, is back this year starting August 8th. Players will get another shot at obtaining the Summer Games skins they may have missed the first time around, with a crucial update: Blizzard has confirmed that all Summer Games items can be unlocked via credits this time around.

In addition to Summer Games skins, Lucioball is returning, including a new Arcade mode, Copa Lucioball. In this mode, Lucioball is competitive, team-based Lucioball, with an entirely separate competitive ladder. Players who make it to the top 500 of the ladder in their region will be rewarded with a unique spray. It sounds to be a tester for the concept of extracurricular seasons outside of the standard competitive season mode, so it will be interesting to see how it plays out.
