Last night’s episode of Raw may not have been the most inspiring three hours of wrestling ever put together, but one major, major development did come out of it.
Paige, the first ever NXT Women’s Champion, former two time Divas Champion and one of the most popular female Superstars in WWE history, made her much-anticipated return to WWE last night during a fatal four way match between Alicia Fox, Sasha Banks, Mickie James and Bayley to determine the #1 contender for the Raw Women’s Championship. Paige cut a brief promo in front of a hyped crowd showering her with "welcome back" chants.
Paige wasn’t alone, though: As she sauntered to the ring, NXT Superstars Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville stormed the ring from the crowd, attacking three of the four competitors in the match (Alicia Fox hightailed it out of there).
Later on in a backstage segment, the three ran into Raw Women’s Champion Alex Bliss backstage, and proceeded to deliver a beatdown to Little Miss Bliss.
And just like that, Raw‘s women’s division is one of the most exciting in the company. Look for Paige to challenge Alexa for her title in the coming months, and for Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville — two competitors WWE is high on — to rise in the ranks.
