Continuing on the note of its second highest Thursday night box office opening, Star Wars: The Last Jedi continues to Force-stomp the competition with the second largest domestic opening of all-time at $220 million (behind only its predecessor, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which earned $247.9 million in 2015).
According to Box Office Mojo, “It feels a safe assumption a domestic performance anywhere from $750-830 million is most likely and it will be interesting to see where it ends up, especially considering some of these early responses from moviegoers.” A $750 million performance would put The Last Jedi in third place on the all-time box office list behind The Force Awakens ($936,662,225) and Avatar ($760,507,625). Currently in third place is Titanic ($659,363,944).
