WWE has released Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Amore as a result of yesterday’s allegations of sexual assault made on social media. Amore is accused of drugging a woman and forcing her to have sex with him.

As soon as the allegations began to make their rounds on social media and news outlets, WWE immediately suspended Amore “until this matter is resolved.” It appears that some new development has happened in the story, because today WWE announced they have come to terms with Enzo’s release.

The “Realest Guy in the Room” has been a fan favorite on WWE television since his days in NXT alongside former tag partner Big Cass, and was hailed as one of the best mic guys the company has seen in a while. Unfortunately, there have been several reports of him being hard to work with backstage, as he never really drops the Enzo Amore character.
As far as the Cruiserweight division, of which Amore was the reigning champion, we’ll hopefully find out more information tonight on 205 Live following SmackDown Live and the Mixed Match Challenge match.
