Arya Stark actress Maisie Williams reveals ‘Game of Thrones’ Season 8 premiere date

Want to know which month the final season of Game of Thrones will be airing?

We already learned at the beginning of the month that the final Game of Thrones season, 8, wouldn’t air until sometime in 2019.

In a recent interview with Metro, Maisie Williams (who plays youngest of the Stark daughters, Arya) gave Game of Thrones a better idea of when the final season would be airing:

We wrap in December and we air our first episode in April [2019]. That’s a four-month turnaround for these huge episodes. There’s a lot that goes into the final edit. You would not want to rush this season at all. We owe it to our audience and our fans to really do this final season to the best of our abilities.

Arya and Needle

When asked if she had any ideas how she’d like her character Arya’s journey to end, the twenty-year-old actress said:

I’ve always said I wanted her to find peace. The things that have been driving her through her story have been very bitter and twisted and aggressive. I would love for Arya to find her true self again and let go of this anger and revenge that’s accompanied her on this journey. I’d love for her to be happy.

Will Arya Stark find peace in the final season of Game of Thrones? If she does, there are still a few big names (most notably Cersei Lannister and The Hound) she might have to cross off from her “Kill List” first.

Game of Thrones Season 8 will air in April 2019.
