WWE announces first-ever all-women’s PPV ‘Evolution’ to take place in October

All three titles will be defended, as well as the finals of the Mae Young Classic.

Speculation ran abound when it was announced that Stephanie McMahon had a major announcement for tonight’s episode of Monday Night Raw. WWE didn’t make us wait for long, as the announcement kicked off the show, as introduced by Vince McMahon himself: the first-ever all-women’s pay-per-view/Network event, dubbed Evolution, will take place October 28th from the Nassau Coliseum on Long Island, New York.

The show will feature the defense of all three women’s titles — the Raw Women’s Championship, SmackDown Women’s Championship and NXT Women’s Championship — as well as the finals of the Mae Young Classic, set to kick off in a few weeks.

Stephanie mentioned that the stars of “Then, now and forever” would be present, leading to speculation that former female WWE Superstars will also compete at the event.

Time will tell if we’ll also get the heavily-rumored new WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships, but it does seem like it would help fill out the card of this show.

Evolution airs live on the WWE Network October 28.
