Blizzard announces Overwatch LEGO sets are coming soon

Overwatch heroes are getting the LEGO treatment.

Recently rumors have been circulating that LEGO would be the next big toy company to partner with Blizzard. While Blizzard confirmed the partnership back in May, there hasn’t been any further details made available. That all changed today.

This morning Blizzard made the official announcement via the Overwatch Twitter account.

The speculation around what LEGO would be making with Blizzard first began when it was discovered that LEGO had opened a new page on it’s website, LEGO Overwatch.

Recently the hype-train picked up speed when the schedule for Blizzard’s Overwatch fan event in Seoul, South Korea, scheduled Aug. 22 and 23, was released.

As you can see from the schedule posted on the Overwatch website: Twitch, Hasbro, Nerf, Good Smile Company and LEGO are listed to appear. Thanks to this mornings Tweet, fans now have a pretty solid idea of what to expect.

The short clip in the Overwatch account’s Tweet shows the outline for six heroes in LEGO form at the select screen players see when forming their team. Present is Genji, Soldier: 76, Mercy, Tracer, McCree and what appears to possibly be Hanzo (if anyone know who the hero second from left is, please leave a comment below).

The Overwatch fan event will be streamed online via Twitch and it’s a safe bet that you can also see all the new goodie announcements via Blizzard’s Overwatch social media.
