Podcasts are all the rage these days in case you haven’t heard from all your friends constantly recommending podcasts. That includes My Dad Wrote a Porno which is a British podcast downloaded over 100 million times. It’s so damn good, and so damn popular, HBO is turning it into a comedy special next year.
“My Dad Wrote a Porno shows the extent of just how embarrassing dads can be, in the best possible way,” said executive vice president of HBO programming Nina Rosenstein. “James, Jamie and Alice transformed a very awkward situation into an undeniably hilarious experience that we’re excited to share with our audience.”
It remains to be seen how they’ll convert the podcast to live action, but my money is on animation.
The HBO comedy special will be produced by Done and Dusted; executive produced by Jamie Morton, James Cooper, Alice Levine and Rocky Flintstone; directed by Hamish Hamilton.

HIT COMEDY PODCAST MY DAD WROTE A PORNO
COMES TO HBO IN A COMEDY SPECIAL
NEW YORK, Aug. 27, 2018 – HBO will bring the hit British comedy podcast MY DAD WROTE A PORNO to the network for a comedy special in 2019, it was announced today by Nina Rosenstein, executive vice president, HBO Programming. Hosted by Jamie Morton, James Cooper and Alice Levine, the podcast has been downloaded more than 100 million times since its launch in 2015.
MY DAD WROTE A PORNO features Jamie Morton reading a chapter from the “Belinda Blinked” series of “erotic” novels, written by his real-life father under the nom de plume Rocky Flintstone, with his friends James Cooper and Alice Levine providing uproarious commentary. Hailed as a “global word-of-mouth sensation” by the Hollywood Reporter, the podcast has been described as “addictive and instantly engaging” by Indiewire and “gratuitously mucky and achingly funny” by the Financial Times.
