DC Universe’s ‘Stargirl’ casts Henry Thomas as Dr. Mid-Nite

Mid-Nite’s the JSA’s resident doctor and detective.

The Justice Society continues to form, with Henry Thomas cast as Dr. Charles McNider/Dr. Mid-Nite in Stargirl, Entertainment Weekly has reported. Notably, he played Elliott in E.T.

McNider is described as an “introspective surgeon” and “forward-thinking medical pioneer.” He’s one of the founding members of the JSA.

Aided by his trusty owl, he’s the JSA’s “resident doctor and detective.” In the comics, Mid-Nite can see in the dark using infrared light.

Thomas is the second actor to play Mid-Nite, with the first being Kwesi Ameyaw in The CW’s Legends of Tomorrow.

Stargirl is set to debut on DC Universe in August 2019.
