Carnage is more dangerous than ever in ‘Venom Unleashed’ – and maybe the most powerful villain

Carnage may be the biggest threat in the Marvel Universe right now. Here’s why.

Spoilers ahead. You’ve been warned.

If you’ve been reading Donny Cates’ run on Venom you’ll know the character is going down a road we’ve never seen. New information about the Symbiote race has been learned like how the aliens are from an ancient and cosmic god named Knull. Or how the green ooze coming out of Venom is his waste. Ick.

Listen to the latest episode of our weekly comics podcast!

After Eddie fought the Symbiote god Knul, and seemingly killed him, Eddie’s Symbiote has lost its personality. In a new tie-in issue Web Of Venom: Venom Unleashed #1, written by Ryan Stegman with art by Kyle Hotz and Juan Gedeon, that story pushes forward and it appears Carnage is attempting to fill the void Knull left when he died.

In a backup story, Carnage takes center stage where we learn via captions he considers himself an expert on death. He’s died a few times after all.

Utilizing some new powers Carnage appears to be able to take control of the minds of people and use them as slaves. One might argue those slaves are dead since Carnage talks about how death, or the abyss, is a place where no suffering or pain takes place.

Like Knull, Carnage appears to want to take control of all human minds much like how Knull controls the minds of all Symbiotes. Once he kills Venom his task of taking over the world won’t be too hard, apparently.

If you thought Maximum Carnage was the epitome of Carnage’s powers, it appears you haven’t seen anything yet.

This is only part of the story and I recommend reading the entire issue of Web of Venom Unleashed #1. You can get it digitally today.
