New Star Wars toys arriving with Disney’s Triple Force Friday

Get ready for brand new action figures, clothing, collectibles, and books.

There’s a tradition Star Wars fans look forward to with the release of each new film from the franchise, one that sees piles of new toys, clothing, collectibles, and all sorts of other merchandise released en mass a few months before the film arrives in theaters. I’m of course talking about what has been dubbed by the Star Wars community as Force Friday.

With J.J. Abram’s Star Wars: Episode IX coming this December, the community is already awash with excitement for the event, but this year Disney is doing things a little differently. Instead of Force Friday, fans are getting Triple Force Friday. Why Triple? Well, Disney isn’t giving you merchandise for just Episode IX, fans are also going to get goodies for Jon Favreau’s upcoming live-action Disney+ series, The Mandalorian, as well as EA and Respawn’s new action adventure game, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

Stores around the world will be participating in the event, with special unique in-store events and midnight release parties. Triple Force Friday merchandise will go on sale beginning at 12:01 a.m. on October 4, 2019.

“This is truly an epic moment for fans, families and retailers as products for two of the biggest-ever entertainment franchises hit shelves simultaneously,” Ken Potrock, Disney’s president of Consumer Products Commercialization, said in a statement. “We’ll be working with our partners to create suitably spectacular celebrations for each, in line with the excitement and anticipation of the legions of Star Wars and Frozen fans around the globe.”

Past events saw in-store digital scavenger hunts via augmented reality, costume contests, live unboxings, and all sorts of wacky fun.
