Where would Batman be without Alfred? Along those lines, where would Batwoman be without her father, Jacob Kane? Well, we won’t have to wait long to find out, as Deadline reports that actor Dougray Scott (Ever After, Fear the Walking Dead) has been cast as Kane in upcoming CW series Batwoman.
Kane’s a former military officer with command over The Crows, who’re Gotham’s private security firm. With them, he aims to protect Gotham better than Batman ever could. Unfortunately, he’s got an “unwavering disdain for vigilantes” (as Deadline describes it) putting him at odds with Batwoman, who’s secretly his daughter.
Scott played Sean Ambrose, the villain in Mission: Impossible 2 and almost played Wolverine in X-Men, but suffered an on-set injury. Jacob Kane was created by J.H. Williams III and Jock, first appearing in Detective Comics #854 with Batwoman.
Batwoman airs later this year on The CW.
