Netflix announces Haunting of Hill House sequel, The Haunting of Bly Manor

Horror miniseries becomes anthology with the announcement of a second, unconnected season.

Netflix and Amblin Entertainment have announced a new horror series, The Haunting of Bly Manor. The two companies partnered previously to produce The Haunting of Hill House, one of the streaming platform’s most acclaimed miniseries.

The first season of the anthology series, Haunting of Hill House, is available on Netflix now.

Taking an anthology approach, the second season will feature an entirely new cast and plot, but will retain series director and writer, Mike Flanagan — who has also worked on films such as OculusGerald’s Game, and Hush. Amblin has also announced that the season will be focused on the works of author Henry James, whose horror novella The Turn of the Screw, features a location called Bly Manor.

Amblin and Dreamworks will also be releasing a feature film based on the novella, titled The Turning, in 2020 per a tweet announcing both the second season of the Netflix series and the film:

Additional details, including any casting, are scant now but we’ll be sure to keep you updated so check back as the story unfolds!
