Bret Hart unveils new AEW World Championship at Double or Nothing

The Hitman is the first person to get their hands on AEW gold.

Bret “Hitman” Hart made a surprise appearance at AEW’s Double or Nothing PPV Saturday night at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Paradise, Nevada. The Excellence of Execution had the esteemed honor of unveiling AEW’s first ever World Championship in front of 20,000 fans.

Earlier in the evening Adam “Hangman” Page eliminated MJF to win the 21-man Casino Battle Royale, securing his spot in the first ever championship match against the victor of Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho’s match later in the evening. Jericho would go on to win that match, setting the stage for Page to wrestle Jericho to see who will be crowned AEW’s first ever champion.

Below is Bret’s surprise entrance and unveiling of the title.

MJF would interrupt Bret as he was about to unveil the title, insulting the legend and claiming that Page had used underhanded trickery to win the battle royal. Jungle Boy and Jimmy Havoc would join Page outside the ring in defending Bret against MJF’s disrespectful insults, with Jungle Boy and Havoc removing MJF from the ring, allowing Bret to finish the title reveal.
