It has been days in the making but we finally know what Marvel Editor in Chief C.B. Cebulski has been teasing with his Spider-Man countdown images. Today via the New York Times it has been revealed J.J. Abrams and his son Henry Abrams are writing a new Spider-Man miniseries.
In collaboration with Sara Pichelli with covers by Olivier Coipel, the series will feature a new supervillain named Cadaverous. Check out Cebulski’s tweet below revealing the series which will be out in September.

This was a surprise to be sure, especially since his count down started with a webbed 4. Many on the internet forums assumed this meant they were going to print a sequel to Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 3 possibly based on a script never produced. Fans weren’t too far off considering J.J. Abrams is a filmmaker himself.
In the interview with the New York Times, it was revealed longtime Spider-Man editor Nick Lowe has been courting J.J. Abrams for ten years. It was only until Abrams and his son Henry started working out the idea that they got excited and agreed to the project. Both J.J.
