Jen Bartel wins best cover artist Eisner award

Artist on Blackbird and Submerged snags the win

Jen Bartel, the artist behind Image’s Blackbird as well as the cover artist for numerous books from DC, Image, Marvel and Vault including Marvel’s Tales series, has won the 2019 Eisner award for Best Cover Artist at this year’s San Diego Comic Con ceremony for her work on Blackbird and Submerged.

This is Bartel’s first Eisner nomination and win. She was nominated alongside Nick Derington (Mister Miracle), Karl Kerschel (Isola), Joshua Middleton (Batgirl and Aquaman) and Julian Tedesco (Hawkeye, Life of Captain Marvel).
