IT’s Andy Muschietti confirms he’s directing ‘The Flash’

From the Master of Horror to the Fastest Man Alive.

Over the last few years, there’s been a lot of difficulty in getting a Flash movie made, which is disappointing given just how much potential the speedster has to offer the silver screen. Directors like Dope‘s Rick Famuyiwa and Game Night‘s Jonathan Francis Daley are among those who’ve been attached to the film and eventually left.

Now, Flash fans have finally received some pretty great news on the film’s progress, with IT director Andy Muschietti confirming to Fandango he’s directing the film. When asked if Flash would contain elements of horror, he said “An element of horror? I don’t think so. What captivated me about the Flash is the human drama in it.”

“The human feelings and emotions that play in the drama [of it]. It’s going to be fun, too. I can’t promise that there will be any horror [elements in it], really, but it’s a beautiful human story.”

Last time we saw the Scarlet Speedster on the big screen was 2017’s Justice League, played by We Need To Talk About Kevin star Ezra Miller, who’s expected to reprise the role in The Flash.
