Chris Jericho vs. Cody World Championship match announced for AEW Full Gear

Chris Jericho’s first challenger appears in AEW’s EVP.

AEW’s next pay-per-view event has its main event: AEW World Champion Chris Jericho will defend his title against Executive Vice President Cody Rhodes. The news was broken by Sports Illustrated and later confirmed by All Elite Wrestling’s Twitter account.

Chris Jericho, who became the inaugural AEW World Champion at All Out (and then had a tumultuous first few days with the title), will defend his championship against Cody at Full Gear, taking place November 9th at the Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore, MD.

AEW had previously said that the World Champion’s first defense would take place at the Philadelphia TNT tapings October 16th. It’s unknown if that’s still in the cards, but this Chris Jericho’s first officially advertised defense.
