Dark Horse Comics has announced that The Umbrella Academy collected volumes will be re-released in a new line of deluxe editions starting with The Umbrella Academy Volume 1: Apocalypse Suite Deluxe Edition this coming Spring.
“We’re excited to give our fans the opportunity to further enjoy The Umbrella Academy with this new line of deluxe hardcover editions,” said series creators Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá. “We’re incredibly grateful to our fans for all their support and hope they enjoy these beautiful new books.”
The first deluxe edition will contain the first volume of the series, Apocalypse Suite, as well the short stories Mon Dieu! and But the Past Ain’t Through with You. Also found inside is a 50-page sketchbook section with art by Gerard Way, Gabriel Bá, James Jean, and designer Tony Ong.
Also included will be a new exclusive lithograph art piece from Bà which is enclosed in a leatherette portfolio, debossed with the Umbrella Academy crest. Both the book and portfolio are enclosed in a slipcase, with art again by Bà, that’s finished with a matte lamination and splot gloss UV.
The book itself has 216-pages and will be an oversized hardcover bound in leatherette, debossed with an applique of iconic umbrella symbol, and features foil stamping and a satin ribbon bookmark.
It goes on sale for $79.99 and will be available in comic shops on March 4, 2020 and in book stores on March 17. 2020. You can pre-order through Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and your local comic book store.
