The future of DC films is looking really bright. At the beginning of next month, Joker (starring Joaquin Phoenix) is set for release, having won a Golden Lion and a great deal of critical praise. But one can’t forget about his arch-nemesis, with Matt Reeves’ The Batman hitting theaters June 25th, 2021.
Deadline reports that Jeffrey Wright, Bernard Lowe in Westworld, is in talks to play Commissioner Gordon. He’d be the fourth actor in recent times to play the mustachioed Commissioner, with Gary Oldman (The Dark Knight trilogy), Ben McKenzie (Gotham) and JK Simmons (Justice League) taking on the role previously.
Jonah Hill is in talks to play a villain, though we don’t know who yet. Though well known for comedies like 21 Jump Street and Superbad, Hill’s also starred in more dramatic roles like Moneyball and The Wolf of Wall Street. Hill’s got some experience with DC, having voiced Green Lantern in The LEGO Movies and LEGO Batman.
The Batman (with Robert Pattinson confirmed as Batman/Bruce Wayne) is flying into theaters June 25th, 2021.
