Harley Quinn’s highly anticipated DC Universe animated series finally has a release date. The adult orientated animated show staring everyone’s favorite deranged queen of crime premieres November 29 on the DC Universe streaming service.
Thursday evening during a DC Universe press presentation, the series’ executive producers Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacher made the announcement. The pair shared that Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti’s comic book work on that character played a heavy influence, as well as Harley’s character from the original Batman animated series.
“The idea behind the first season is Harley emancipates herself from the Joker and attempts to become the queen of crime in Gotham city,” said Halpern. “Harley finds that Gotham’s heroes and villains don’t take kindly to female super villains. Harley has caught wind that the Legion of Doom is having a meeting — she’s still hooked into Joker’s calendar, so she gets his iCal updates — and decides to show up to the meeting at the Gotham mint. She shows up expecting a very specific thing at her coming out party, but it becomes a very different thing.”
Harley Quinn stars Kaley Cuoco, Alan Tudyk, Ron Funches, Lake Bell, Diedrich Bader, Christopher Meloni, Wanda Sykes, Natalie Morales, Jim Rash, Giancarlo Esposito, Jason Alexander, and J.B. Smoove. Look for the series on the DC Universe streaming service on November 29.
