Triple H on Ronda Rousey: ‘She’s coming back’

The Game didn’t say when, but he thinks it will be ‘sooner rather than later’.

With the exceptional of Total Divas Season 9, WWE fans haven’t seen “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey on television since she lost her WWE RAW Women’s Championship to Becky Lynch in the main event of Wrestlemania 35.

The former MMA star turned WWE Superstar has been dealing with a host of injuries since leaving WWE, one sustained in her last match at Wrestlemania and another in a freak accident while filming a stunt for Fox’s 9-1-1. In addition to rehabbing her various injuries, there’s also been talk from Ronda and those around her that she wants to have a baby and start a family with her husband Travis Browne.

Yet despite the many reasons why she’s expected not to expect to the squared circle anytime soon, the rowdy one has been keeping up with wrestling as a big component of her social media and online presence. So the question remains – Is Ronda coming back and if she is, when?

At a media scrum following the WWE Crown Jewel press conference, Triple H was asked when the baddest woman on the planet would be returning to WWE. The cerebral assassin appeared very confident that we will see Rousey wrestle again. Sooner rather than later.

“Don’t have a specific timeline but she’s with us. This is family for her. She’s coming back. She has said it, she calls us all the time. I think the biggest tear for her right now is trying to do what she wants in her personal life and just missing this. There’s… it’s hard to explain, this is like a family and there is a brotherhood, and a sisterhood, here that’s deep with people.

I don’t think she understood that walking in the door, but when she got here… she said to me multiple times, ‘It was like the family I never knew I was missing, and the group of friends and the environment I never knew I was missing.’ I think she misses that greatly. She talks to everybody all the time, she’s constantly with us, and she’s constantly pitching her return. So, if I had to guess, it would be sooner rather than later, but who knows?”

Rousey remains listed in the alumni section of the WWE website. It’s anyone’s guess how long it will be before that changes.
