Marvel Studios’ upcoming Disney+ She-Hulk series has landed Emmy award winning Rick and Morty writer Jessica Gao. The TV writer will develop and lead the writing team, according to a report from THR.
Gao join the writing team for Rick and Morty’s third season in the role of story editor and wrote the infamous “Pickle Rick” episode. She won the Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Animated Program at the 2018 Emmy Awards.
The She-Hulk series was first announced by Disney in August of 2019 at the company’s D23 Expo, alongside Ms. Marvel and Moon Knight. At this time no other creative announcements for the series have been made.
Created by Stan Lee and John Buscema, Jennifer Walters aka She-Hulk first appeared in Savage She-Hulk #1, released in February of 1980. Walters was shot by mobsters and after a blood transfusion from her cousin, Bruce Banner, AKA The Incredible Hulk, the gamma-irradiated blood caused a mutation turning her into She-Hulk.
Disney+ launches Tuesday November 12 where She-Hulk will stream exclusively. No premiere date has been announced for She-Hulk at this time.
