Matt Reeves’ upcoming superhero blockbuster, The Batman, has cast up-and-coming Juilliard grad Jayme Lawson. Collider reports that Lawson’s role is being kept under wraps for the time being, which almost definitely implies that its notable given that so many high profile castings have been shared.
Casting announcements for The Batman thus far include Robert Pattison in the lead role of Bruce Wayne / Batman, Zoe Kravitz as Selina Kyle / Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Riddler, and Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner James Gordon.
Andy Serkis is currently in talks to play Alred Pennyworth, Bruce Wayne’s butler and closest confidant. Should Serkis join the cast, he will be the 12th actor to play the role, including Douglas Hodge’s recent portrayal in Joker.
Michael Giacchino will be composing the film which director Matt Reeves has said will have an Aflred Hitchcock feel.
The Batman is set to open in theaters on June 25, 2021.
