‘Deadpool 3’ is in development at Marvel Studios, Ryan Reynolds announced Tuesday on Live with Kelly and Ryan.
When asked about a third installment in the massively successful superhero movie franchise formerly developed by 21st Century Fox, Reynolds said, “Yeah, we’re working on it right now with the whole team. We’re over at Marvel [Studios] now, which is like the big leagues all of a sudden. It’s kinda crazy. So yeah, we’re working on it.”
When Disney purchased 21st Century Fox back in 2017, two questions many comic book fans immediately had were “when will the X-Men join the Marvel Cinematic Universe?” and “Will Disney still make Deadpool movies?” Deadpool’s raunchy humor may seem at odds with Disney’s clean-cut image, but the potential profits are likely hard to turn down: Deadpool 2 generated over $785 million for Fox, and was well received by fans.
