Ruins of Ravecroft: Carnage #1
Words by Frank Tieri. Art by Angel Unzueta & Guiu Villanova.
Is it too early too mark this issue as the biggest surprise of 2020? We’re only two new comic book days in, but this blew me away as I was expecting another run of the mill mini-event. Tieri and the company have captured the horror of the natural ancient world impeccably well. This is an engaging, macabre horror story not to be missed. (9.5/10)

Batman #86
Words by James Tynion IV. Art by Tony S. Daniel.
This issue is an excellent start to what is looking to be yet another standout run on the main Batman title. Tynion is giving the book a tangible forward momentum right out the gate, and Daniel brings a more classical style to the art that makes it feel familiar – something that I didn’t expect to enjoy, but works incredibly well. The character voices are fantastic, and as a successor to Tom King’s run as well as its own entity, James Tynion’s run has started off with a bang. (9.5/10)

Mighty Morphin’ Power Ranges/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #2

This miniseries is shaping to be amazing and creating quite a conflict that is worthy of a team-up. I hope this takes off like Batman/TMNT and we get multiple volumes of it. I highly recommend this comic mini-series as you are getting two dynamic properties and a fantastic story with great art for the price of one comic. Tell your local comic shop to set this aside for you if you are not getting this series — don’t even chance it trade waiting. (10/10)

Pretty Deadly: The Rat #5

Pretty Deadly: The Rat doesn’t so much tell a story, as it allows one to unveil slowly and earnestly. It’s a story of letting go and gaining from loss. It’s our story, and one everyone needs to hear it. The End. (10/10)

Dying is Easy #2
Words by Joe Hill. Art by Martin Simmonds.
Dying Is Easy #2 is just an all-around great book. The pacing, dialogue, and panel counts are damn near perfect. As for the artwork, everything moves in sync, like a fine-tuned piano. There’s still time to catch up with the series if you haven’t already. Hopefully, Syd manages to clear his name before it’s too late. (10/10)
