The Revival files trademark for ‘Shatter Machine’

More fuel to the fire for rumors of The Revival’s exit from WWE.

As the latest move in what has become a trend of sorts for WWE Superstars, The Revival have filed for a trademark for “Shatter Machine,” currently the name of their finishing maneuver. The trademark would cover the following, according to the United States Patent and Trademark Office:

IC 025. US 022 039. G & S: Hats; Hooded sweat shirts; Pants; Shirts

IC 041. US 100 101 107. G & S: Entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests; Entertainment services, namely, live appearances by a professional wrestling and sports entertainment personality; Entertainment services, namely, personal appearances by a professional wrestler and sports entertainment personality; Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibits and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer; Providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network.

This could mean nothing — high-profile wrestlers such as Charlotte Flair, who has nothing to worry about when it comes to being featured and pushed in WWE — have recently filed for trademarks relating to their characters. But it is an interesting move in the case of The Revival, who seem to perpetually have one foot out the door in WWE and are rumored to be turning down a new contract with the company. While WWE will likely not let go of the “Revival” name, “Shatter Machine” could be a suitable replacement were Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson to join another company.

In WWE, The Revival are five time tag team champions — twice in NXT and on Raw, and once on SmackDown. However, since being called up to the main roster in 2017, the duo has failed to live up to the lofty expectations set in NXT.

All Elite Wrestling’s Cody Rhodes and the Young Bucks have repeatedly expressed interest in The Revival, and Revival vs. Young Bucks remains a tag team dream match.
