AMC announced today that the Season 10 season finale of The Walking Dead (‘A Certain Doom’) will be delayed from its original April 12 air date due to post-productions delays caused by COVID-19.
The official press release from AMC reads:
“Current events have unfortunately made it impossible to complete post-production of The Walking Dead Season 10 finale, so the current season will end with its 15th episode on April 5. The planned finale will appear as a special episode later in the year.
The first 8 episodes of The Walking Dead Season 10 will be available for free on https://AMC.com and the AMC app, immediately following the last Season 10 episode on Sunday, April 5 through Friday, May 1.”
So we will at least get this Sunday’s episode (‘Look at the Flowers) and this season’s penultimate episode (‘The Tower) on Sunday, April 5. Unfortunately, it looks like it could be a while until the series finale is completed.
The Walking Dead‘s official Twitter account also sent out this statement from executive producer and Visual Effects Coordinator Greg Nicotero.
While this certainly isn’t ideal, the safety and well-being of the cast and crew of The Walking Dead should obviously take precedence over the series finale airing on time.
And besides, it’s not like we don’t plenty of other entertaining options to binge while we wait.
